Happy New Year! The year starts well! At the start of the year ASAS is
asked to present the portfolio for a conversion of a small church from
the 11th century property of the Hervormde-Gereformeerde Church in
Bunnik January 6 2010 Green light for the preliminary design for fitness center Woman's World West! January 7 2010 Icy site trip to the Dordtselaan with the representatives of the local councils of Hoogvliet-Feijenoord and Charlois. January 19 2010 Presentation of the concept for the Guide to Advertizing in the Kleiwegquarter in Rotterdam. January 27 2010 Got some inspiration for facade materials at the trade fair 'Facade 2010'. See the animation on the right. December 2009 The 'Guide to Advertizing on the Nieuwe Binnenweg' is a big success. As follow up of this commission ASAS in co-operation with Joep Klabbers of zo-architecten is commissioned to make a similar guide for the Kleiwegquarter in Rotterdam. December 22 2009 De The 'Guides to Advertizing' are so much a success that also the local councils of Hoogvliet-Feijenoord and Charlois commissioned ASAS_zo-architecten a 'Guide to Advertizing for the Dordtselaan'. November 2009 ASAS in co-operation with zo-architecten has a new commission to design a fitness center of 900 m2 in Rotterdam. October 2009 The first proof of the 'Guide to Advertizing on the Nieuwe Binnenweg' is finished. 600 copies of the guide with illustrations for the correct application of advertisement rules of the city of Rotterdam are available for the shop owners on the Nieuwe Binnenweg. The guide features a series of photo collages of shop fronts that show how the Nieuwe Binnenweg will change after the regeneration process. Oktober 14 2009 ASAS works on an intermediate presentation for the design of a market configuration for Zeist. October 15 2009 Arjan Scheer attends a symposium on Healthy, Comfortable and Energy efficient living in Utrecht. The symposium was organized by the Ministry of Planning of the Netherlands and SBR. Arjan Scheer especially appreciated the call for a for the bankruptcy of the Energy Performance Coefficient methodology of determining energy efficiency within current Dutch Building Regulations by Evert Hasselaar of TU Delft OTB. As an alternative he advocated a methodology based on 'Passive House'. October 29 2009 Arjan Scheer visited the information meeting about the changes on the new Law on the Architects title in Utrecht. Afterwards he received the certificate for 2 of manditory 8 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Afterwards I can not help to stop thinking what the effects are of extra requirements for registration as an Architect. A shame there was no public discussion afterwards. September 28 2009 An article by Arjan Scheer following the 5th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam with the title 'A shoarma kapsalon at the Schiedamseweg' has been published today in the RD. August 2009 ASAS presented the urban infill study for 5 dwellings for elderly along the Stationweg West in Woudenberg to the Committee for 'Beauty' and Monuments. The urban design was received with enthusiasm. Now the client has the green light to continue the development of the dwellings. Juli 2009 ASAS received the commission for the urban design of 5 dwellings for elderly along the Stationsweg West in Woudenberg. June 2009 ASAS and zoarchitecten work on a 'Guide to Advertizing on the Nieuwe Binnenweg'. The guide shows which kind of advertisement is possible on the Nieuwe Binnenweg without the necessity of a building permit. The guide is targeted at making the application of the rules easier. The goals is that advertisement remains subordinated to the building structure. When advertisement is applied to the facades in the way it is meant, then the impressive 19th century architecture of the Nieuwe Binnenweg will become vissible again. June 2 2009 Arjan Scheer attends a symposium on the Creative City in Mechelen, Belgium. The symposium is organized by De Buren. The visit of the symposium is meant as a field study for an article on the Creative City. June 22 2009 The article on the Creative City is published on Archined. June 29 2009 Study for the design of open space in the Nieuwe Waldeck neighbourhood in The Hague. May 2009 ASAS works on a design for a market configuration for Zeist. May 14 2009 Arjan Scheer is on a trip to Green Roofs in Rotterdam. An excursion organized by Nirov. April 2009 ASAS works on a presentation for a new configuration of the market on the Vismarkt and Grote Markt in Groningen. The east facade of the Grote Markt in Groningen will soon be replaced by the Groninger Forum. During the construction there will be a temporary building site on the Grote Markt. The presentation by ASAS shows how this can be done in an appealing way. March 2009 Arjan Scheer wrote an article: The City for Tomorrow for the RD newspaper. February 2009 ASAS works on an advice for a configuration of the market on the main square in Oldenzaal. January 2009 ASAS works on an advice for a market configuration for the market square in Zeist. January 27 2009 ASAS presents the sketch design for the extension of Villa Westerik in Hattem, also locally known as Villa Het Slingerbos , due to the curvy characteristics of the paths around the Waa (lake) behind the property. |
